For the longest time I tried to learn how to put a pinterest hover button over all of my pictures. I went to the part of pinterest’s site which allows you to make your own pin it buttons. After numerous attempts, I learned these were only usable if you have the paid version of WordPress. I did not have that at the time, nor wanted or needed it, so I put the thought behind me.
Then a couple months ago I learned there is a way to put a pinterest hover button onto your wordpress blog, even if it is the unpaid version! They are not the pretty customised ones in the shape of flowers, hearts, or the ones with fancy writing, but it is better than nothing.
Why Have a Pinterest Hover Button?
As the writer, I assume you, the reader, already know what a pinterest hover button is. (If not: it is the “pin it” button you see on blogs when you scroll over a picture.” Many people already have a pin it button set onto their personal computer, and many blogs have a pin it button at the bottom of an article, so why do you need another “pin it” button on top of every picture?
Simple, it provides more ways to share good content.
Sometimes the “pin it” button at the end of the article only shows one or two pictures available to pin. Most of the time it is not the picture you want. The pin it button you have on your personal computer also does not always pull up the pictures you want.
Having three ways to pin a picture, means your audience has more options. The hover button makes it easy to pin the picture they want. All they have to do is click on the picture and pin it.
Putting this hover button on your blog is easy and does not take a lot of time.
Here is how you do it:
